The modem is essentially known as a Modulator or Demodulator. Modem is a device that modulates an analog carrier signal to instruct digital information, and also demodulates a carrier signal to interpret the transmitted information. A modem is communications devices which can be communicate with internal and also external of our computer. A modem changes the outgoing digital signals from a computer to analog signals. The modems are used in the computers to communicate with one another over a network.

The most fundamental appearance of a modem consists of a power supply, transmitter, and receiver. A modem is an internal or external computer hardware device which is used to connect to a phone line and internet service provider that can connect us to the internet. A modem is a tool that recognizes a sequential stream of bits and makes a modulated carrier as output. It transfers the device protocols transparently over the network through a serial interface.
